Job summary

Family Office in Redwood City, CA seeks a senior Controller to own the close process end to end across multiple entities, shaping the Controllership function. The role requires onsite presence in our Silicon Valley office three days per week and close collaboration with FP&A, Legal, HR, and external partners.

You will drive GL integrity, vendor management, and process design to support a growing, complex structure while maintaining strong controls and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Owning outsourced accounting relationships and SLAs
• 12+ years in accounting roles
• 5+ years owning end-to-end close across multiple entities
• Ability to scale controls for leaner, faster organizations
• Experience in private family offices or discreet organizations preferred

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across all entities
• Ensure GL integrity and correct transaction coding
• Manage AP vendors and external accounting/finance partners
• Design and optimize controllership function and reporting architecture
• Drive automation, AI-assisted tooling, and process improvements
• Collaborate with FP&A, Legal, HR, and treasury on cross-functional initiatives
