Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Leader in Washington, DC to oversee the firm’s accounting function, including GL, month-end close, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls.

You will lead three direct reports, drive process improvements, and ensure accuracy and compliance across domestic and international offices while guiding ERP implementations and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Firm's accounting function, including general ledger management, month-end/year-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and external audits.
• Lead three (3) direct reports.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounting team while driving operational excellence, process improvements, and organizational accountability.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial information through robust internal controls, compliance protocols, and accounting oversight.
• Manage treasury and banking activities, including cash forecasting, bank relationships, account administration, and liquidity monitoring.
• Oversee accounting operations across domestic and international offices, ensuring consistency, integration, and adherence to global accounting standards.
• Serve as the accounting lead for strategic initiatives, including ERP systems, technology implementations, automation, AI adoption, and cross-functional process redesign projects.
