Job summary

TwentyThree North in Santa Monica, CA, seeks an experienced Controller to oversee accounting and financial reporting, manage month-end close, internal controls, and compliance, and partner with the CFO and executive team to support financial objectives.

This role leads payroll, AP/AR, assists in audits, and drives process improvements across ERP systems (NetSuite/Oracle/SAP). Requires 8+ years of progressive experience and strong GAAP expertise; CPA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8+ years accounting/finance experience.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Experience leading monthly and year-end close processes.
• Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/financial reporting systems (NetSuite/Oracle/SAP).

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and fixed assets.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reporting packages.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and other accounting operations.
• Partner with FP&A to provide financial analysis for decisions.
• Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting.
• Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff.
