Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reporting packages.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and other accounting operations.
  • Partner with FP&A to provide financial analysis for decisions.
  • Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff.

Controller

TwentyThree North is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions. The Controller will be responsible for managing the monthly close, financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance while partnering closely with the CFO and executive leadership support the company’s financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, fixed assets, and other core accounting activities.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Oversee a team that will execute accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting operations.
  • Partner with FP&A and business leaders to provide financial information and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate the annual audit and serve as the primary accounting contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party providers.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve reporting, and increase the efficiency and scalability of the finance function.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports for senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff while establishing clear processes, expectations, and accountability.
  • Support special projects, system implementations, process improvements, and other initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA is preferred byt not required
  • Big 4 / Public Accounting experience is preferred, but not required
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including experience managing an accounting function.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience leading monthly and year-end close processes.
  • Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls experience.
  • Experience managing and developing accounting professionals.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP and financial reporting systems; NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar systems preferred.
Compensation:

$200,000 per year
