Job summary

Methanex Geismar is seeking a Control Systems Lead to provide strategic and technical leadership for instrumentation, DCS, SIS, and process controls across all Geismar plants.

You will oversee change requests, OPEX modifications, and small projects, ensuring safety, cost effectiveness, and compliance with technical standards. The role requires strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Projects teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited institution; Chemical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 10+ years in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or Instrumentation/Control Systems Engineering (DCS) in Oil&Gas, Refining or Petrochemical industries.
• 5+ years of proven leadership experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead DCS/OPEX projects and modifications ensuring safety, quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Provide expert guidance on configurable control systems within Methanex USA.
• Advise I&E Supervisors and Operations on I&E systems.
• Ensure control system modifications follow MOC standards and regulations.
• Coordinate plant-wide control systems engineering for capital projects.
• Supervise external consultants and manage contractor performance.
