Job summary

Methanex Geismar is hiring a Process Controls Engineer to provide expert support for process control, instrumentation, automation, and safety systems across the plant. You will troubleshoot control system issues, identify improvement opportunities, and implement cost-effective solutions to optimize performance, working with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teams.

The role requires strong knowledge of DCS/PLC, safety standards, and vendor management, with a focus on meeting project

Qualifications

BS degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
2+ years of experience in a continuous process industry preferred.
Experience with control systems, automation software, and safety systems.

Responsibilities

Lead work on Capital Projects with multi-disciplinary teams and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and customers on project scope and execution.
Review automation software and control system design documents for compliance and quality.
Oversee fabrication, testing, and commissioning activities; monitor KPIs and schedules.
Manage cyber security of plant DCS/PLC systems and vendor contracts.
