Job summary

Methanex Geismar is seeking a Control Systems Lead to drive strategy and delivery of instrumentation, DCS, SIS, and process control across three Geismar plants. You will lead a high-performing team, manage outages, and guide capital projects while ensuring safe, compliant operations and robust technical governance.

Serving as the site SME for control systems, you will oversee planning, budgeting, contractor management, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Projects,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical or electrical) is required.
• 10+ years in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Instrumentation/Control Systems engineering preferred.
• 5+ years leadership experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic/fault finding skills.
• Excellent computer/programming and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all assigned DCS OPEX projects and modifications meet safety, quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Provides expert guidance on configurable control systems within Methanex USA.
• Supports I&E Supervisors and Operations with I&E system advice and assistance.
• Communicates complex control engineering issues clearly to non-experts.
• Ensures compliance with Methanex MOC standards for all plant modifications.
• Leads the Control project work list to meet customer requirements.
