Job summary

Carter Machinery Co. Inc. is seeking a Control Systems Engineer in Richmond, VA. You will design, develop, install, and maintain control systems for facilities, microgrids, and power applications, coordinating with project leads to meet current and future needs.

The role requires extensive experience in protection and control concepts, PLC programming, SCADA, and HMIs, with strong communication and multitasking abilities. Travel will be frequent, and a strong team mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
• Minimum seven years’ industrial power system and controls design experience.
• Experience with Protection & Control concepts, including diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, install, and maintain control systems for facilities and power applications.
• Coordinate with project leads to ensure efficient control operations and cost effectiveness.
• Create and review wiring diagrams, one-lines, and panel/shop drawings.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to meet goals and timelines.
