Carter Machinery in Richmond, VA seeks a Control Systems Engineer to design and install control systems for BMS, microgrids, and power equipment. You will lead engineering efforts, coordinate with project teams, and ensure robust, cost-effective solutions for industrial applications.

The role demands proficiency in CAD, PLC, HMI, SCADA/EMS, and protection concepts, with a focus on teamwork, communication, and rapid problem-solving. Travel and strong driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
• Experience with Protection & Control design concepts including one-lines and schematics.
• Panel and Shop Drawing design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, install and maintain equipment for monitoring and controlling facilities (BMS) systems, microgrids, machinery, and SWGR.
• Coordinate with project leads to ensure efficient control operations and cost-effective systems.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to define requirements and provide effective control solutions.
• Maintain clear documentation and demonstrate strong problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
