Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead projects across Northern California and the western United States.

You will design and deliver SCADA, control systems, and OT solutions for critical infrastructure with a focus on reliability, cybersecurity, and energy efficiency. You will mentor junior staff, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and engage clients from proposal through commissioning, with travel as required to client sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Minimum 10 years of applicable experience.
Experience with data centers, water/wastewater, renewable energy, or critical infrastructure.
Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to travel to client sites in Northern California and the western United States.

Responsibilities

Lead development of SCADA, control systems, instrumentation, networking, and OT solutions for facilities.
Act as technical lead for studies, master plans, design reports, and construction documents.
Oversee P&IDs, network architectures, control narratives, instrument schedules, and wiring diagrams.
Guide multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, implementation, startup and commissioning.
Provide leadership on industrial networking, OT modernization, cybersecurity, and system resilience.
Support business development with client engagement, proposals and scoping.
Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
