Job summary

HDR is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to support its global practice, focusing on automation, SCADA, and control system integration across industries. You will work under senior engineers to design, document, and implement advanced control solutions, traveling to client sites as needed.

The role demands strong engineering fundamentals, client collaboration, and a proactive approach to developing reliable, efficient systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering required.
• PE license required (or eligible for license).
• MS Office proficiency required.
• Minimum 5 years of applicable experience in control systems.
• Experience with SCADA, network design for industrial control, and instrumentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client facilities to assess and document current state of installed control systems.
• Participate in design review and planning meetings with the client.
• Develop preliminary engineering reports and studies for control system improvements.
• Interface with electrical and process engineers to coordinate design requirements for network, power, control, and instrumentation.
• Assist with selection and specification of process instrumentation, control panels, and network equipment.
• Develop biddable SCADA/I&C construction documents including P&IDs, network diagrams, and wiring details.
• Use AutoCAD to develop and review construction documents.
• Assist with system testing and commissioning activities.
