Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a driven Control Systems Engineer in Northern California to design and implement SCADA, PLC, HMI, and industrial networking solutions for municipal, industrial, and commercial clients.

You will contribute to OT cybersecurity, network design, FAT/SAT, and commissioning across diverse facilities, including data centers and critical infrastructure, traveling as needed throughout the region.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
PE license preferred or required depending on jurisdiction.
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial control systems, SCADA, automation, OT, or related engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

Develop SCADA, PLC, HMI, instrumentation, and industrial networking solutions for municipal, industrial, and commercial clients.
Prepare engineering studies, master plans, assessments, basis-of-design reports, and technical memoranda.
Design and develop construction documents including P&IDs, network diagrams, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and instrumentation schedules.
Support control system implementations including PLC programming, HMI development, integration, commissioning, and startup.
Participate in OT cybersecurity assessments, network architecture development, asset inventories, segmentation strategies, and implementation of security controls.
Coordinate integration of control, networking, power, instrumentation, and process systems with multidisciplinary teams.
