Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Senior Control System Engineer to lead control system development within a hybrid work arrangement. The role involves owning assigned control system functions, mentoring a small team, and collaborating with a global engineering community.

Occasional travel up to 20% between sites and up to 10% other travel is expected. You will work on flagship programs, ensuring technical outcomes meet standards and quality, and supporting full life cycle

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of product development engineering experience or Master’s/PhD in same fields.
• U.S. Citizen eligibility required.
• 5+ years of product development engineering experience (preferred).
• Experience with FAA or military qualification of airborne systems desirable.
• Application of agile development methods to deliver engineering work products.
• Experience with model-based systems with digital engineering toolsets (MATLAB, Simulink and/or similar).
• Knowledge of system engineering and use of robust design tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams and customers to develop control system requirements, design and verification per ARP4754A and DO-178C guidance.
• Work with cross-functional teams to uphold high standards of technical capability and teamwork.
• Provide and support engineering process guidance and training.
• Prepare and review engineering work products for technical documentation, quality and completeness.
• Resolve complex problems through applied technical experience.
• Develop and communicate complex technical ideas clearly.
