Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a Senior Control Panel Designer to own electrical drawing packages for control panels and power products, from concept to released production revision. You will design PLC and I/O hardware, network wiring, and safety circuits to UL 508A and NEC compliance.

The role is a new product development focus, collaborating with controls, power electronics, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to set team drawing standards and ensure ECO/ECN discipline.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of control panel design experience from concept to production.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN P8 with shared standards.
• PLC and I/O hardware design including 24 VDC power budgeting.
• Network interface drawings and topology (Ethernet/Modbus TCP).
• Wiring detail: terminal blocks, wire numbering, cable schedules.
• UL 508A and NFPA 70 knowledge; SCCR documentation.
• Emergency stop and safety circuit design per NFPA 79/ISO 13849.
• New product development for smart AI UPS or related power products.

Responsibilities

• Carry complete drawing packages from concept through prototype to production revision.
• Design PLC and I/O hardware: I/O lists, power budgeting, fusing and distribution.
• Produce network interface drawings: Ethernet/Modbus topology and IP schedules.
• Create wiring detail: terminal blocks, wire numbering, cable/conduit schedules.
• Design emergency stop and safety circuits with reviewers.
• Design switchgear interfaces: CT/PT wiring and 125 VDC control power.
• Determine SCCR and size components per UL 508A/NFPA 70.
• Generate BOMs and maintain component database; manage revisions.
