Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a Senior Control Panel Designer to own electrical drawing packages from concept to production for our smart AI UPS and power products. You will design PLC/I/O hardware, 24 VDC power budgets, and wiring documentation in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN P8, ensuring UL 508A and NEC compliance.

You will collaborate with controls, power electronics, mechanical, and procurement teams to establish shared drawing standards and drive new product development for grid-safe data center

Qualifications

• 7+ years of control panel design experience
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN P8
• Design PLC and I/O hardware: budgets, fusing and distribution
• Create wiring diagrams and network drawings
• SCCR and NFPA 70 knowledge for panels
• UL 508A knowledge and compliance focus
• Emergency stop and safety circuit design
• Switchgear interface design and wiring
• New product development in AI UPS/power products

Responsibilities

• Carry complete drawing packages from concept through prototype and production
• Design PLC and I/O hardware: I/O lists, power budgeting, wiring
• Generate network diagrams: Ethernet, Modbus TCP, IP schedules
• Produce wiring details: terminal blocks, cable schedules
• Develop safety circuits with NFPA 79/ISO 13849 intent
• Design switchgear interfaces and interlocks
• Determine SCCR and select components per UL 508A
• Generate BOMs and maintain component database
• Set up and maintain libraries and templates for teamwork
