Job summary

Vanderlande is seeking a Contract Manager in the United States to oversee customer contracts and construction subcontracts on complex material-handling projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Progressive experience in contracts and commercial management.
• Knowledge of contract formation, administration, and enforcement.
• Strong understanding of construction and project-delivery processes.
• Ability to analyze complex contract issues and organize supporting evidence.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and conflict-management skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Administer customer contracts and subcontracts throughout the project lifecycle, including obligations and closeout requirements.
• Review documents, amendments, purchase orders, subcontracts, and commercial correspondence; communicate requirements to stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with contractual requirements and address gaps before entitlement or delivery impact.
• Prepare cost, schedule, productivity, and commercial justifications with project teams.
• Develop claim and defense strategies for customer and subcontract matters with evidentiary support.
• Draft timely notices, responses, and other required contract communications.
• Support negotiations and dispute resolution with Legal; identify mitigating actions with owners.
• Provide commercial guidance to project leadership to protect delivery, margins, and cash flow.
• Integrate contract requirements into project execution with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in contract reviews, risk workshops, and dispute discussions.
