Job summary

COWI in Seattle is seeking a Senior Contracts Specialist to lead contract administration for major infrastructure projects across North America. You will plan, develop and implement commercial strategies, manage prime contracts, and advise project teams on risk, changes and claims.

The role requires deep experience in contracts management within engineering or construction, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with legal and finance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Masters in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering or Legal fields will be in considered.
• Active professional membership(s) in relevant professional bodies preferred.
• Over 10 years working for contractor or engineering consultant in contracts administration and commercial management.
• At least 5 years in senior contract management position.

Responsibilities

• Manage deliverables: ensure contract deliverables are within timeframes and inform project team of issues.
• Communicate and manage change: identify deviations, process changes, raise notices and handle variations.
• Address risk: contribute to risk register and ensure profitability events are recorded.
• Payments: coordinate with project finance to verify payment certificates and remedies.
• Training: conduct contract awareness courses for staff.
• Client collaboration: conduct commercial meetings with client teams and close out variations.
• Internal coordination: maintain logs, advise on insurance updates, participate in senior meetings.
