Cloudflare in San Francisco (also Austin and New York) seeks a Principal Content Engineer to lead the Developer GTM content engine. You will translate product reality into tutorials, runnable samples, architectures, and narratives that developers read, build from, and return to, while setting architecture, standards, and tooling for the team.

Qualifications

• 12+ years at the intersection of technical content, developer education, and software engineering.
• Exceptional technical writing and editing with a high quality bar.
• Deep engineering experience designing, building, and maintaining production tooling; proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript; familiarity with serverless/edge platforms.
• Experience building automated content systems, including pipelines, CI checks, freshness/validation tooling, and AI-assisted review or maintenance.
• Content analytics and experimentation to drive acquisition/activation/adoption outcomes.
• Information architecture and editorial standards experience for a substantial technical surface.
• Experience guiding a content platform migration or redesign is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the content architecture for Developer GTM and define editorial standards across tutorials, blog posts, sample apps, newsletters, and education content.
• Build scalable content systems with self-healing pipelines, AI-assisted review, CI checks, and quality guardrails.
• Write flagship content including deep technical tutorials, reference architectures, and runnable demos.
• Partner with Growth, DevRel, Product, and PMM to map content to the developer journey and measure quality and discoverability.
• Be AI-native: develop content tools and guardrails for AI agents and LLMs to consume.
• Identify emerging developer behaviors and translate them into narratives positioning Cloudflare as the default platform.
• Raise the floor by establishing conventions and templates; mentor the GTM team.
