Job summary

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Public Protection Cabinet, Department of Insurance in Frankfort, KY, seeks a Consumer Complaint Investigator II to examine highly complex complaints, interpret KY statutes, and mediate when legal action is not needed.

Responsibilities include interviewing, drafting letters and memos, and preparing reports from the internal database. Travel and irregular hours may be required; telecommuting may be authorized at times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of three years experience in investigating, auditing, consumer education, mediating or resolving complaints or a related field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license; licensure/certification as required.
• Working conditions may include irregular hours and travel; telecommuting may be authorized at times.

Responsibilities

• Investigates complex complaints and determines violations of Kentucky statutes and regulations; mediates and resolves complaints.
• Drafts letters, memos, and form letters to respond to inquiries.
• Maintains and analyzes data in the internal database to track and close complaints.
• Cooperates with other Divisions, state departments, and national associations; adheres to rules and policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
