Job summary

World Wide Technology seeks a Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE) to lead the technical vision for Fortune 500–Fortune 2,000 clients, designing big‑picture solutions and guiding customers through complex digital transformations.

As a senior pre‑sales advisor, you’ll build trusted OEM relationships, demo multi‑cloud and data‑center architectures, partner with Sales, and use the ATC for hands‑on workshops and proofs‑of‑concept. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

Candidates must live in or near the Des Moines, IA area.
8+ years in solutions architecture or systems engineering designing complex enterprise solutions.
Deep technical expertise in data center infrastructure spanning storage, compute, backup and data protection, disaster recovery, cyber resiliency, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, and cloud/hybrid cloud architectures.
Broad technical knowledge across multiple IT domains beyond your core focus – for example, enterprise networking, security infrastructure, and collaboration/unified communications.
Architectural thinker who weaves hardware, software, and services from vendors to meet complex needs.
Experience leveraging OEM partner solutions to drive outcomes.
Strong business acumen and consultative skills translating objectives into requirements.
Excellent communication with executives; able to present clearly.
Experience in cross-functional teams and with external partners.
Travel up to ~25%.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical sales strategy for key accounts and design innovative architecture solutions with real business value.
Partner with Sales from discovery to demos and solution presentations.
Shape cost-effective solutions meeting technical requirements and financial constraints.
Translate requirements into technical designs and compelling proposals for stakeholders.
Design solutions across storage, compute, data protection/backup, DR, cyber resiliency, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure and cloud/hybrid environments.
Leverage extended resources and the ATC for hands‑on workshops, demos, and proofs‑of‑concept to accelerate cycles.
Build, grow and manage strong relationships with customer teams as a trusted advisor.
Map WWT’s value proposition to customer needs and requirements.
Collaborate with OEMs to craft unified solutions and deliver industry expertise.
Stay ahead of tech trends and expand expertise across adjacent domains.
