Job summary

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a seasoned Consulting Systems Engineer to lead the technical vision for Fortune 500–Fortune 2,000 clients. This senior pre-sales role focuses on designing big-picture solutions and guiding customers through complex digital transformations.

The ideal candidate will build strong OEM relationships, collaborate with sales, and drive successful outcomes through multi-cloud, data center, and security architectures.

Qualifications

• Candidates must live in or near San Francisco, CA.
• 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture or systems engineering for large enterprise environments.
• Broad technical knowledge across IT domains: enterprise networking, cloud, virtualization, security, and collaboration.
• Architectural thinker who can weave hardware, software, and services from multiple vendors.
• Experience leveraging OEM partner solutions to drive outcomes.
• Strong business acumen and consultative skills; effective with executives.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities for technical and executive audiences.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, and partners.
• Willingness to travel up to ~25% within the region.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/computer science or equivalent; certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical sales strategy for key accounts and design innovative architecture solutions.
• Partner with Sales in discovery, demos, and solution presentations.
• Translate customer requirements into custom technical designs and compelling proposals.
• Build and manage strong relationships with customer teams as their trusted adviser.
• Collaborate with OEMs to craft unified cloud, security, and data center solutions.
• Leverage the ATC for hands-on demos, workshops and proofs-of-concept.
