Job summary

UFG Insurance is seeking a Sr. Production Underwriter - Construction to join the Mountain Region. You will attract and underwrite middle market construction business, manage agency relationships, and execute underwriting strategy to achieve profit and premium plans.

The role includes renewal book oversight and mentoring teammates. Remote opportunity with preference for residence in Idaho; travel to support assigned book of business may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; AU/CIC/CPCU designations preferred.
• 5+ years commercial lines underwriting experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Profitably underwrite complex new and renewal business through risk selection and pricing under delegated authority.
• Set terms and conditions to deliver a profitable portfolio while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Marketing and portfolio development through in-person and virtual agency calls; develop a strong pipeline.
• Mentor and train team members and provide guidance on escalated issues.
• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure optimal stakeholder management and feedback.
