Job summary

UFG Insurance seeks a Senior Production Underwriter to join the Southeast Region. You will underwrite complex new and renewal business, manage accounts, and collaborate with agency partners to achieve profitable premium growth.

The role requires 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor others. Travel is required per book of business, and the position can be remote with preference for candidates in AL/TN/FL/MS/GA/NC/SC.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree preferred.
• Completion of or working towards AU, CIC and/or CPCU designations preferred.
• 5+ years commercial lines underwriting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Profitably underwrite complex new and renewal business through risk selection, pricing, contractual integrity, and account management, in accordance with delegated authority, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Through effective portfolio management skills, achieve profit and premium plans for prescribed business unit strategies.
• Achieve production goals within assigned territory; marketing, prospecting and developing a strong pipeline with agencies and insureds.
• Represent UFG in the marketplace, articulating underwriting capabilities across business units and partnering with internal teams.
• Mentor and train team members, acting as a resource to answer questions and resolve escalated issues.
