Job summary

Richard is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee daily site construction activities, manage field personnel, and ensure completion on schedule and within budget. The role requires high-quality supervision of trades, strong safety practices, and collaboration with the project team.

The ideal candidate will travel to various project sites across the United States, with a focus on healthcare and data-center projects, while maintaining Richard’s culture of collaboration and innovation.

Qualifications

• 10-20 years’ experience with a general contracting company.
• Open to traveling throughout the U.S.
• Understanding of construction materials, means, methods and building systems.
• Experience managing projects $20MM+.
• Experience in federal sector projects.
• Experience in healthcare projects.
• Experience in managing change orders, writing contracts, and building schedules.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe and Bluebeam.
• Ability to develop, implement, and comprehend RFIs, change orders, project schedules, and look-aheads.
• Ability to manage subs in a hard-bid capacity and hold them to contracts.
• Clear communication with home office, Owner, Subcontractors; ability to run owner meetings.
• Availability for all shifts as hospital construction occurs around the clock.
• Experience in Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or Union projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, direct and supervise all day-to-day field operations.
• Communicate with project team to maintain schedule, safety, budget and quality control.
• Plan and organize work in accordance with contract documents.
• Manage owner contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Conduct on-site meetings with subcontractors and owners.
• Schedule and monitor field productivity.
• Provide mentorship and training to project team.
• Oversee project startup, completion, and close-out processes.
• Maintain documentation (change orders, RFIs, submittals).
• Manage contractual issues and relationships with customers.
• Forecast costs for project completion.
• Ensure timely and safe completion within budgets.
• Coordinate with Safety Manager to meet safety goals.
