Job summary

JMT is seeking a Construction Superintendent in New York to provide project oversight, ensure work aligns with contract documents, and mentor junior team members. You will guide field staff and collaborate with owners, architects, and contractors to deliver a wide range of building renovation projects.

Strong leadership and scheduling abilities are essential. Applicants should have OSHA 30 certification and extensive experience with construction management software.

Qualifications

• Ten years+ construction experience in roles such as Construction Manager, Senior Inspector, or Construction Superintendent.
• OSHA 30-hour construction safety training.
• Experience with building renovation and multi-trade oversight.
• Experience with Owner’s Project Managers on costs, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and field reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate CPM schedules and sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent relationships with clients, occupants, architects/engineers, and contractors.
• Manage and coordinate field/inspection staff.
• Oversee project schedule from inception to close out.
• Lead project meetings on site.
• Review contractor work for plan/spec compliance.
• Review and approve contractor requisitions and invoices.
• Provide project status updates and escalation.
