Job summary

MEC, a Division of Kiewit, seeks a Safety Manager to develop and audit safety programs on a construction project. You will lead site safety plans, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with craft workers to foster a safe work environment.

The role requires 5+ years in construction safety, OSHA knowledge, and strong communication. Initial work locations include Boise, ID or New York with on-site duties and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction safety management or equivalent.
• Knowledge of construction safety, OSHA standards and regulations.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team across various climates.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, update, and communicate the Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) for project personnel.
• Ensure safety protocols align with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Collaborate daily with craft workers to promote ownership of safety programs.
• Lead investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and accidents; analyze root causes.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits; establish and monitor KPIs.
• Provide timely safety reports to project management and senior leadership.
