Job summary

SpaceX is building Terafab, a semiconductor factory, and seeks a Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to advance our construction safety programs.

You will lead safety initiatives across contractors, review designs for safety opportunities, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations on a fast-paced site. The role requires extensive experience in construction safety, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to operate in a high-change environment while mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing and overseeing EHS programs with emphasis on construction safety.
• 10+ years of experience in construction safety preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to influence people.
• Experience leading multi-site or multi-contractor construction safety programs.
• Ability to review drawings and lead safety-in-design opportunities.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local construction safety regulations.
• Experience with fall protection, scaffolding, crane safety, excavation, and confined space.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Professional CSP/CHST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, execute, and improve construction safety and contractor management programs at Terafab.
• Lead daily safety engagements with employees and contractors to drive safe operations.
• Create, review, and approve Purchase Orders and manage the safety budget.
• Develop practical solutions to improve site safety and reduce incidents.
• Investigate mishaps and develop sustainable improvement plans to reduce risk.
• Ensure EHS policies are understood and followed by project teams and contractors.
• Collaborate with project teams and contractors to foster a strong safety culture.
• Review new safety laws/regulations and provide guidance to management.
• Provide training and coaching on JHAs, safe work procedures, onboarding, and permits.
• Hold Contractor Safety Steering Reviews and drive accountability across contractor groups.
• Perform safety audits, pre-task planning, and contractor risk assessments.
