Job summary

ERM is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Safety Specialist to provide on-site support for a pharmaceutical client in Lebanon, IN. You will observe construction activities from an EHS perspective, ensuring compliance with regulations and ERM standards, and maintaining a safe environment for all site personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, safety, or occupational health and safety (preferred).
• 15+ years of on-site construction health & safety experience.
• CHST, ASP, or CSP certifications preferred.
• Experience on large construction megaprojects required.
• Pharmaceutical or high-tech project experience highly desired.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry and construction standards.
• Completed training for OSHA 30-hour construction, confined space entry, and fall protection preferred.
• Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Engage with owner representatives and contractors on safety.
• Promote client safety culture across contractor and subcontractor groups.
• Identify hazards and influence safe work practices on behalf of the owner.
• On-site observation of construction activities from an EHS perspective.
• Document activities with respect to required EHS performance.
• Train on-site workers on EHS oversight program requirements.
• Train on-site subcontractors on EHS oversight program requirements.
• Help administer project directives from Client’s EHS personnel.
• Report on compliance with safety procedures and the approved safety plan.
• Maintain safety-related documentation on the project site.
• Participate in daily pre-shift coordination meetings.
• Review and comment on General Contractor’s JHAs and obtain signatures.
• Conduct daily site inspections for orderliness and safety.
• Propose corrections of safety deviations and support corrective actions.
• Issue daily site observation reports.
