Job summary

ERM is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to provide on-site support for a pharmaceutical client in Philadelphia, PA. The role focuses on observation of construction activities from an EHS perspective, ensuring health and safety compliance with regulations and company standards.

The position is full-time (40+ hours/week), limited-term for 12 months with renewal potential. Responsibilities include training, reporting, and maintaining safety documentation on site to support client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, safety, or occupational health and safety, or related degree preferred.
• 3+ years of on-site construction safety experience.
• Certification in CHST, ASP, or CSP preferred.
• Pharmaceutical or high-tech project experience highly desired.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry and construction standards.
• Strong commitment to safety with strict Health and Safety protocols.
• OSHA 30-hour construction, confined space entry, and fall protection training preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to multitask, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to deliver high-quality project outcomes and client service.
• Ability to organize and coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Engage with general contractors and subcontractors on behalf of the owner.
• Promote client’s safety culture across contractor groups.
• Identify hazards and influence safe work practices of contractors.
• On-site observation of construction activities from an EHS perspective.
• Document activities with respect to EHS performance.
• Train on-site workers on EHS oversight program requirements.
• Train on-site subcontractors on EHS oversight program requirements.
• Help administer Client EH&S directives throughout the project.
• Report on compliance with safety procedures and plans.
• Maintain safety documentation on site (JHA, SDS, etc.).
• Participate in daily pre-shift coordination meetings.
• Review General Contractor JHAs and obtain signatures.
• Conduct daily site inspections and propose corrective actions.
• Issue daily site observation reports.
