Job summary

Balfour Beatty Construction is seeking a Safety Health & Environmental Manager for Southern California, covering LA/OC and Riverside. You will implement safety and loss prevention programs, ensuring training for job-site employees and subcontractors in applicable federal and state regulations.

You will lead safety audits, incident investigations, and environmental compliance across projects. The role requires extensive construction safety experience, supervisory capability, and strong PC skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of commercial construction safety experience in a Safety Manager role.
• Minimum of 5+ years of supervisory experience related to staff and subcontractors.
• OSHA 30 required.

Responsibilities

• Perform site visits and safety audits as dictated by project needs.
• Prepare project safety start-up packets and compliance materials.
• Review and assist with project safety plans in coordination with superintendents.
• Provide SDS resources and ensure on-site availability of required information.
• Investigate accidents and prepare written reports.
• Address environmental and hazardous material issues and provide solutions.
• Coordinate safety training and track completion for project personnel.
• Conduct first aid training to ensure up-to-date credentials.
• Maintain site safety records and drug testing program oversight.
• Represent the company at safety meetings and professional associations.
