Job summary
Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to implement the Zero Injury Safety program across project sites and ensure a safe work environment for crews, subcontractors, and visitors at construction sites.
This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, with compensation determined by experience and location. Travel up to 100% may be required, and the role emphasizes safety leadership, audits, and training across projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in safety or equivalent, or high school with CHST/OSHA 500 and 10 years of construction safety leadership.
- At least four years of construction safety experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant safety software programs.
- Willingness to travel up to 100%.
Responsibilities
- Implement and administer site safety programs and training.
- Document safety violations and conduct audits.
- Lead OSHA reporting and review subcontractor safety.
- Monitor safety metrics and incident analysis.
- Coordinate with client safety, unions, and risk engineers.
- Maintain safety equipment and build relationships across teams.
