Qualifications

• Four years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• Valid New York State Professional Engineer license (PE) required.

• Master's degree in civil engineering may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform drawing and document reviews for high-risk construction projects.
• Conduct field reviews across five boroughs under unit direction.
• Audit complex projects including excavation, foundations, and scaffolding submissions.
• Consult with project consultants and owners representatives on compliance.
• Issue summonses to professionals for code compliance.
• Lead forensic investigations and document findings for incidents.
• Support senior officials on technical matters and policy.
• Represent the department as an expert witness in proceedings.
