Job summary

SPC Construction Co. is seeking a Health and Safety Manager in New York to lead occupational health and safety programs across large projects. You will analyze safety trends, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor site safety professionals.

You will develop orientations and trainings, manage permits, and provide technical guidance to keep projects on schedule while maintaining a safe workplace. This role requires 15+ years in construction safety and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Safety or related field preferred.
• 15+ years’ experience in construction or safety.
• 10+ years’ experience managing construction or safety teams.
• Strong leadership and mentoring of safety professionals.
• Ability to train construction teams on safety principles and knowledge.
• Proven skill identifying onsite safety risks and mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Oversees safety program and procedures for a large project or multiple projects within the District.
• Performs project site trend analysis and tracks safety incidents and related records.
• Develops safety orientations and trainings and leads toolbox talks.
• Ensures permits and certifications are active and tracked to avoid delays.
• Provides technical support for training, equipment and inspection needs.
• Oversees equipment maintenance and procurement of safety items.
• Reviews DHA and participates in JHA discussions for the project plan.
• Creates or approves worksite safety and evacuation plans and supports emergency planning.
