Job summary

Mount Indie seeks a Construction Engineering Technician to provide hands-on quality assurance, safety oversight, and technical support for federal facilities design and construction at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME.

Ideal candidates have experience with NAVFAC or US Army Corps of Engineers projects and can coordinate with contractors, government stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to keep projects safe, compliant, and on schedule.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required or able to obtain
• Ability to obtain and maintain NAC/CAC - required
• Must obtain USACE CQM Certification within 60 days of start
• Familiarity with crane safety requirements and NAVFAC P-307
• High School diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction quality management activities across projects
• Review contractor QC plans and provide recommendations
• Attend QC meetings and monitor three-phase control checklists
• Document observations in QA reports and contractor QC reports
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and certification of critical systems
• Coordinate safety reviews and AHAs with Site Safety and Health Officer
• Review crane-related plans and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Support investigation of safety incidents and mishap reporting
• Assist with collateral equipment installations and field coordination
• Review and annotate contractor daily reports and look-ahead schedules
• Maintain liaison with government stakeholders and project team
