Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Business Management, Construction Management or Engineering.
  • At least six years of Construction Management or Program Management experience.
  • Over four years leading complex healthcare construction projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
  • Experience coordinating with authorities and accrediting agencies (AHJs).

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of complex capital construction and renovation projects from initiation through occupancy and closeout.
  • Direct project planning, design, construction, commissioning, and activation activities.
  • Establish project objectives, milestones, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Monitor progress, mitigate risks, and resolve issues affecting scope, schedule, budget, or operations.
  • Ensure safe, timely, budget-compliant delivery aligned with healthcare and construction standards.
  • Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, cost forecasts, cash flows, and controls.
  • Review and negotiate contractor proposals, vendor quotes, and consultant agreements.
  • Prepare budget updates, financial analyses, and forecasts; present to leadership.
  • Serve as liaison among project teams, hospital leadership, clinical departments, consultants, and regulators.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and coordinate construction with affected departments to minimize disruptions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams; mentor Project Managers and Coordinators.
  • Administer contracts, purchase orders, amendments, and change orders.
  • Manage permitting, inspections, and regulatory approvals; ensure compliance with Life Safety Code and building codes.

Job description

  • Lead all phases of complex capital construction and renovation projects from initiation through occupancy and closeout

  • Evaluate scope requirements and manage change orders
  • Monitor expenditures, commitments, and financial performance
  • Review and negotiate contractor proposals, vendor quotations, and consultant agreements
  • Prepare and present budget updates, financial analyses, and project forecasts
  • Serve as primary liaison among project teams, hospital leadership, clinical departments, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and coordinate construction with affected departments to minimize disruptions
  • Manage external consultant, architect, engineer, contractor, and vendor relationships
  • Provide project status, risk, milestone, operational impact, and mitigation communications
  • Lead, guide, and mentor Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and other team members
  • Lead cross-functional teams and establish accountability for deliverables
  • Coordinate internal and external resources
  • Facilitate meetings, assign responsibilities, track action items, and monitor commitments
  • Resolve project issues, conflicts, resource constraints, and operational barriers
  • Administer contracts, purchase orders, amendments, and change orders
  • Oversee consultant selection, contractor bidding, contract awards, and vendor management
  • Manage permitting, inspections, and regulatory approvals
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, Life Safety Code, building codes, accreditation standards, and organizational policies
  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, meeting records, and closeout materials
  • Develop standardized project management processes, tools, templates, and reporting methodologies
  • Improve project delivery, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction through process enhancements
  • Create and maintain departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, and training materials
  • Promote project management, construction administration, and regulatory compliance best practices
  • Participate in strategic planning and long‑term capital project and facility improvement programs
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Business Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related field
  • Six (6) years of Construction Management or Program Management experience
  • At least four (4) years leading complex healthcare construction, renovation, or infrastructure projects with cross‑functional teams
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required
  • Experience managing regulatory compliance and coordinating with authorities and accrediting agencies, including Fire Marshal, Code Enforcement, AHCA, CMMS, The Joint Commission (TJC), and other Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Any combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered
  • Advanced knowledge of design and construction project management principles, practices, and procedures
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
  • Experience using project management and construction management software; proficiency with Microsoft Project and E‑Builder is preferred
  • Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous capital construction projects with individual project values over $5 million
  • Ability to lead and coordinate teams of four or more project professionals and technical resources
  • Preferred experience managing large‑scale healthcare capital construction programs, including projects involving occupied patient care environments
