Job summary

Island Staffing is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Project Manager for a full-time role in the San Diego area.

The position oversees complex mechanical and electrical installations, coordinating preconstruction and design-assist efforts with field teams to ensure safety, schedule and budget adherence. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years as a project manager in mechanical contracting, 5+ years in industrial projects, and a degree in a related engineering field.

Qualifications

  • Proven project management skills with 10+ years in mechanical contracting or related construction
  • Minimum 5 years on industrial projects
  • 5+ years preconstruction/design-assist experience
  • Experience managing healthcare, data center, lab, higher education and semiconductor projects
  • Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical Engineering preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety, preconstruction, design-assist, field productivity, QA and coordination on projects
  • Manage project cash flow, reporting and procurement of materials/equipment
  • Oversee direct reports and coordinate with owners, vendors and suppliers

Job description

Sr. Mechanical Project Manager - $155-$175K

As a leading Mechanical Contracting Company with a focus on client requirements, we offer BIM capabilities, design-build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC systems, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations.

Job Summary

Company is currently seeking an individual for a full-time position as a Mechanical Senior Project Manager located in the San Diego area.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Proven project management skills with a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a project manager with full mechanical contracting or related construction firms.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial related projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of preconstruction/design-assist experience.
  • Proven experience in management of healthcare, data center, lab, higher education and semi-conductor projects. Contract value range of $15M-200M.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience working with job sites in healthcare is preferred.
Computer Skills

Able to effectively operate the following computer software programs

  • Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Viewpoint
