Senior Construction Project Manager

Southborough, MA | $130K to $145K Base, Plus 10% Bonus and Benefits | Up to 50% Travel

A growing multi‑state automotive and consumer‑services operator is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to independently manage new‑location development and remodel projects across several states.

This is a hands‑on individual‑contributor position for someone who enjoys owning projects, visiting sites, solving problems, and holding contractors accountable. The role offers direct access to senior leadership and the autonomy to improve how projects are planned, permitted, tracked, and delivered.

What You Will Own

  • Manage ground‑up construction and remodels from preconstruction through turnover and closeout

  • Coordinate site diligence, design, permitting, utilities, inspections, and municipal approvals

  • Build and maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and status reporting

  • Select, negotiate with, and manage general contractors, architects, engineers, and specialty vendors

  • Review bids, scopes, contracts, change orders, invoices, and project documentation

  • Visit active sites to monitor progress, safety, workmanship, risks, and operational readiness

  • Resolve field, permitting, contractor, and schedule issues independently

  • Coordinate with real estate, development, operations, and executive leadership

  • Manage several projects in different stages and jurisdictions

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years of commercial construction or project‑management experience

  • Direct responsibility for ground‑up projects and remodels from preconstruction through closeout

  • Experience with multi‑site retail, automotive service, convenience stores, car washes, restaurants, dealerships, or similar prototype‑driven locations

  • Practical experience with permitting, utilities, inspections, and local authorities

  • Strong command of budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and contractor performance

  • Working knowledge of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination

  • Ability to work independently within a lean organization with limited internal construction support

  • Comfortable traveling up to 50 percent and regularly working from Southborough

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field

  • Experience with Procore, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or comparable systems

  • PMP, construction supervisor license, or similar credential

Why Consider This Opportunity

  • $140K to $150K base salary, plus bonus and benefits

  • Direct ownership of visible, business‑critical projects

  • Strong access to company ownership and operating leadership

  • Opportunity to establish better construction processes and standards

  • Growing portfolio of repeatable freestanding locations

  • A role that values practical judgment, accountability, and execution

This position does not require managing a large internal team. It is designed for an experienced construction professional who can operate independently, manage external partners, and personally drive projects through completion.
