Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Construction Manager to lead projects as the company’s management representative, ensuring on‑time delivery, safety, quality, and client satisfaction. The role requires mobilization, planning, cost control, procurement, and proactive coordination with project teams and clients.

The ideal candidate will have a CM/Engineering/Business degree, 10+ years of construction experience, and strong communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office 365 and Adobe

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business preferred.
• Professional accreditations desirable.
• Ten years’ experience in Construction required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Excellent working knowledge of construction methods and building systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a mobile work environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365 and Adobe Suite; report writing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is incorporated into planning and execution; enforce policies.
• Pre-job planning and mobilization.
• Purchasing responsibility and scheduling.
• Maintain open communication with client and Architect/Engineer.
• Review submittals and ensure timely processing.
• Expedite vendors and subcontractors.
• Manage progress payments and change orders.
• Review and analyze job cost reports monthly.
• Address cost/schedule problems with corrective actions.
• Implement Quality Control Plan and commissioning procedures.
• Recruitment and personnel development and retention.
• Keep current with industry best practices and technology.
