Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on large, complex projects. You will ensure safety, manage budgets, and drive quality to meet company standards and client expectations.

You’ll supervise trades, coordinate subcontractors, monitor schedules, and coach staff while maintaining accurate logs and strong owner relations. A Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of leadership in construction are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business.
• 7+ years’ experience in construction with staff leadership and management.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to function as part of a high-performance team.
• Excellent working knowledge of construction methods, facilities operations and building systems.
• Familiarity with strategic planning.
• Ability to work collaboratively in mobile work environment.
• Software proficiency in MS Office 365 (Excel, Project, Word, SharePoint) and Adobe Suite.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safety: enforce safety policies and promote accountability on all staff and subcontractors.
• Quality control: ensure high-quality work from company and subs.
• Job planning: develop and adjust pre-job plans and material handling.
• Scheduling: align project schedule with planning.
• Mobilization: complete tasks from pre-job planning sessions.
• Coordinate and supervise all Company work forces and subcontractors.
• Develop and mentor assistant superintendents and foremen.
• Staff evaluation and development; potential promotions and transfers.
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors; hold weekly meetings.
• Maintain project logs and cost records.
