Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Senior Construction Project Engineer to join the New Construction Mechanical division in Spokane, WA. The role involves supporting RFPs, coordinating equipment procurement, and developing scope of work with subcontractors while collaborating with project management to deliver on schedule and budgets.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management or comparable degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience in engineering, project management or construction is required.
• Experience working for a General Contractor or Major Mechanical Subcontractor preferred.
• Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Suretrak preferred.
• Completed OSHA 30 class is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the Request for Proposal (RFP) and procurement process along with tracking current and future jobs, reviewing contracts and drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate equipment procurement with our purchasing department and outside vendors.
• Schedule, develop the scope of work with subcontractors, and assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting.
• Communicate with general contractors, architects, engineers, and owners.
• Work closely with the project management team and respond to questions raised by superintendents and field workers on a daily basis.
• Develop, process, and track equipment, materials, and informational submittals.
• Create site-specific work plans and create operations and maintenance manuals for clients.
• Process change orders, create billing breakdowns, and conduct quantity take-off and estimates.
