Lee Hecht Harrison Nederland B.V. is seeking a Senior Project Accountant in San Francisco, CA. The role focuses on full-cycle accounting in a construction environment, including payroll processing, labor compliance, and project costing.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in construction accounting, strong ERP and Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years accounting experience in construction/engineering/contracting industry.
• Strong payroll experience including multi-state payroll processing, certified payroll, prevailing wage, and union payroll administration.
• Solid understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close.
• Experience with construction accounting software (Sage 300/Timberline, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and record-keeping.
• Knowledge of construction job costing, project accounting, subcontractor compliance, and labor reporting is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting functions including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Process and review payroll for field and office employees ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare certified payroll reports and labor compliance for public works.
• Reconcile payroll and labor costs to GL and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain A/P and A/R records including vendor payments and client billing.
• Assist with financial statements, job costing, WIP, budgeting, audits, and year-end reporting.
