Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking a Senior Construction Manager for the West Seattle Link Extension. You will lead construction management staff, coordinate with consultants, and ensure alignment with design-build and other delivery methods.

The role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, and extensive experience in heavy civil and underground projects. You will oversee project coordination, safety, and daily field operations on active construction sites, reporting to the Director of Construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or closely related field.
• Five years of construction management experience that includes heavy civil, buildings, and underground structures experience.
• Three years of leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management experience, preferably in a transit/transportation related environment.
• Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, coordinates, and reviews the work of assigned staff; assigns work activities and coordinates schedules, projects, and programs; provides constructive feedback.
• Coaches, trains, and motivates staff; coordinates and/or provides staff training; and manages employee relations; manages the workflow and prioritization of projects.
• Manages the work and performance of assigned Project Coordinators, Construction Managers, and Deputy Construction Managers; conducts site visits to observe conditions and safety.
• Provides overall construction management direction for assigned projects, ensuring contract requirements and changes are properly administered.
• Manages and coordinates the activities of the Construction Management Consultant and/or Design-Build Project Management consultant for assigned projects.
