Job summary

Carvana in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the full construction lifecycle across a growing, national site portfolio. You will manage permitting, bidding, contractor selection, and vendor oversight, while guiding cost and schedule to keep projects on track.

You will partner with Development and Engineering teams to finalize designs, resolve constructability issues, and communicate status to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of project management experience in real estate, construction, or related capital projects.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong understanding of construction procedures and PM methodologies (PMI or similar).
• Experience managing multiple large construction projects simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to present status to senior leadership with clear updates.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Superior interpersonal skills and professionalism.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end construction process, including permitting, bid/contracting, and vendor management.
• Update progress/cost reports, schedules, and forecasts for leadership visibility.
• Collaborate with Development and Engineering to finalize design and resolve constructability issues.
• Direct vendors/consultants and drive standardization across a growing site network.
• Communicate schedules, policies, permits, safety, sustainability, and budget performance to leadership.
• Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach mutual agreements.
• Other duties as assigned.
