Job summary

The UIP Companies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to oversee renovation and construction projects across multi-family residential buildings in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Qualifications

• College degree and 7+ years’ experience in commercial residential construction managing budgets of +$10 million and projects of 50 units and up; ground-up experience preferred.
• History of success in managing projects to successful completion, on-time and within budget.
• Experience in managing a direct hire workforce and subcontractors.
• Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry as well as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with Procore and MS Project.
• Experience with Primavera P6, preferred.
• Solid experience in schedule development and schedule management.
• Proven understanding of the means and methods of construction associated with the build and/or renovation of multi-family residential buildings.
• Goal oriented, deadline driven, and reacts quickly to challenging circumstances to achieve the desired end results.
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills, plans well and addresses and solves problems promptly.
• Proactive, looks for problems that could impede progress and relentlessly takes responsibility for solving them.
• Proven ability to confront difficult situations and manage them to a successful conclusion;
• Highly entrepreneurial with the ability to work effectively with/without supervision

Responsibilities

• Develop cost-effective plans and schedules for completion of projects.
• Minimize exposure and risk with rapid buyout of subs, implementing and auditing safety standards, as well as quality assurance.
• Coordinate work of subcontractors.
• Oversee performance of all trade contractors reviewing architectural/engineering drawings to ensure all specifications are met and regulations are followed.
• Ensure proper administration of construction contracts, obtaining all necessary permits and licenses.
• Supervise assistant project managers and superintendents, review their reports, check on any reported difficulties, and correct any safety violations or other reported deficiencies.
• Track and control construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of projects within time and schedule.
• Report to VP of Development and owner, architects and portfolio managers about progress and any necessary modifications of plans; plan, implement, track and closeout/turnover construction projects.
• Conduct project meetings and manage day to day operational and tactical aspects of multiple construction projects in a supervisory role.
• Manage day to day client interactions and expectations, directly or in a supervisory role.
• Accurately forecast revenue, profitability and project costs.
• Generate and issue regular internal and external project reporting.
• Proactively identify and project changes in project scope and ensure appropriate measures are taken.
• Perform other duties and projects, as assigned
