Job summary

Opitz Bürotechnik seeks a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead large facility projects from Charleston and establish a permanent Atlanta home office after project completion.

You will drive profitability, manage owner contracts, and maintain client relationships while guiding project teams through preconstruction, design changes, and closeout. Domestic travel and leadership duties are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred
• 7-10 years of extensive project management experience in large, complex facility construction and on-site experience in the management of new construction and the renovation of existing assets required
• Advanced knowledge of budgeting, accounting and procurement to manage construction projects
• Proficient in MS Office and scheduling software (Suretrak, Project, P6, Procore, Revit, VICO, or equivalent) required
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
• AGC/ABC membership, LEED AP, OSHA 10 Hour, and Design-Build Institute of America helpful
• Valid Driver's License required

Responsibilities

• Establish profitability goals and strategies to achieve them; manage and control internal costs to ensure profitability.
• Manage and administrate Owner contracts, identify and manage risks daily.
• Maintain and improve relationships with existing clients.
• Participate in marketing efforts and group sales planning; leverage relationships to identify new opportunities.
• Oversee setup and administration of all business plans, estimate adjustments, cost control and reporting.
• Prepare and submit monthly status reports and cost projections; review for invoicing accuracy.
• Ensure regular progress meetings to identify and track action items and deliverables.
• Assist with pre-qualification for bidders; develop responses to RFPs/RFQs; assist owner in selecting project delivery method.
• Oversee change management; review change orders before sending to owner and stakeholders.
• Oversee projects through to close out; manage schedules, submittals, RFIs, and weekly/monthly owner reporting.
• Assist with development and review of cost estimates; ensure estimates are prepared at appropriate design stages.
• Develop industry relationships to generate future sales opportunities.
• Oversee the work of assistant project managers and provide training for field staff.
