Job summary

Boyd Jones Construction seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead complex commercial projects from our Urbandale, IA office. You’ll own performance, client relationships, and team development across multiple programs.

You’ll mentor Project Managers and Engineers, drive forecasts and risk mitigation, and uphold safety and quality standards while coordinating with executives and trade partners to deliver outstanding results.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships, lead teams, and mentor emerging talent.
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, P6 or equivalent scheduling software, and Microsoft Office.
• OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution strategy, team alignment, and performance across complex or multiple concurrent projects.
• Serve as the primary client contact — managing executive relationships and representing BJC with credibility.
• Own financial performance: forecasting accuracy, risk mitigation, cash flow, and portfolio profitability.
• Mentor and develop Project Managers, APMs, and Project Engineers—actively building bench strength on your teams.
• Establish and reinforce risk management, safety culture, and quality standards across all assigned projects.
• Review RFIs, submittals, change events, and documentation prepared by project teams.
• Lead OAC meetings, subcontractor coordination, and internal planning sessions.
• Represent Boyd Jones in client presentations, interviews, and industry events.
