Job summary

FrankCrum is seeking a Senior Construction Paralegal for Florida-based defense work handling property, bodily injury, and construction defect matters. The role supports staff counsel and insurers in litigated matters across the state.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of law firm experience, paralegal certification, and experience with construction defect claims, discovery, and trial preparation. This full-time position offers competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in paralegal or legal studies; paralegal certificate; or equivalent.
• Florida registered paralegal (FRP) certification or willingness to obtain is preferred.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of law firm experience, preferably with insurance defense-oriented litigation.
• Experience with litigated construction defect claims and Chapter 558 pre-suit requirements.
• Experience supporting multiple attorneys with varying workstyles.
• Experience with litigation case management platforms; Clio preferred.
• Proficiency with legal technology including document management, e-discovery, AI tools for research and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cooperative partnership with Claims Management/Staff and clients in handling claims and lawsuits.
• Ensures compliance with local court rules and court-ordered deadlines.
• Prepares pleadings for review by staff counsel.
• Assists with discovery, including responses, document production, and privilege logs.
• Reviews other parties’ discoveries and summarizes responses and productions.
• Prepares, issues and tracks subpoenas as necessary.
• Assists with trial preparation and readiness of courtrooms.
