Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager – Heavy Civil to lead large water resources projects, with emphasis on dams, energy, fisheries, infrastructure, and natural resources.

This full-time role requires strong leadership in construction and project management, ensuring safety, quality, and budget adherence. The position involves managing resident engineers, field staff, and inspectors; coordinating with owners and contractors; and overseeing QA/QC reviews and risk management across

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of management in large, complex civil construction projects.
  • Proven track record delivering heavy civil projects on time and within budget.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites within the Inland Northwest.

Responsibilities

  • Leads discussions, meetings, and workshops on large and complex projects.
  • Ensures that all deliverables produced by the team meet risk management requirements.
  • Plans, creates, and oversees deliverables such as schedules, specifications and budget reports.
  • Implements and leads QA/QC reviews and checks for large projects per client requirements.
  • Leads risk management efforts for complex projects.
  • Manages multiple projects with support staff and resources.
  • Manages construction management teams including resident engineers and inspectors.
  • Acts as owner's representative with contractors, including payments, change orders, and completion certificates.
  • Performs constructability and schedule/budget reviews as preconstruction steps.
  • Supports design projects by performing constructability reviews.
  • Takes on project manager roles for larger projects and delivers on time and budget.
