Job summary

RBA Construction & Engineering is seeking a Construction Manager – Lead Heavy Civil & Infrastructure Projects in Springfield, VA. The role combines field leadership with commercial responsibilities across government and federal projects.

You will oversee project managers and field teams, ensure safety and quality, manage budgets and schedules, and drive project profitability while mentoring staff and coordinating with clients and subcontractors in the DMV area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years leading heavy civil or infrastructure teams.
• Experience delivering roadway, bridge, earthworks, drainage projects.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and contract administration.
• Knowledge of self-perform operations and construction sequencing.
• Familiarity with Procore, FOUNDATION, MS Project or SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple heavy civil/infrastructure projects from preconstruction to closeout.
• Lead project managers, engineers, and field teams across sites.
• Review scope, budgets, schedules, and contracts before mobilization.
• Manage resources, budgets, schedules, labor, and productivity for profitability.
• Provide accurate performance reports to leadership and stakeholders.
• Address delays, shortages, and construction challenges promptly.
• Handle change orders, notices, and contractual documentation.
• Mentor and develop team members for career growth.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and regulators.
