Job summary

NYC Department of Environmental Protection is seeking a permanent Construction Project Manager to lead the Construction Management Section for Green Infrastructure projects in New York City. The role oversees inspectors, coordinates design services during construction, and ensures conformance with contract documents and codes.

Responsibilities include leading field inspections for capital GI contracts, preparing schedule/cost reports, coordinating with DOE/SCA and other agencies, and supervising

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience managing or inspecting construction projects with minimum $300,000 each year.
• One year of lead experience plus a relevant bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Or one year plus a professional license in engineering/architecture/landscape architecture.
• Or a combination of education and experience totaling five years.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate field inspections for capital projects for GI/infrastructure.
• Prepare and submit schedule and cost reports to the Director.
• Participate in progress meetings with contractors and agencies.
• Resolve construction issues to maintain budget and schedule.
• Prepare cost estimates and assist in procuring oversight services.
• Coordinate input with DOE/SCA and other agencies.
• Lead inspection audits and ensure compliance with sewer use regulations.
• Supervise staff timesheets, leave requests, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with the Design Engineer on field issues.
